People for Growth ("Gente per la Crescita" in Italian) is the association of Italian startups presented on September 30 in New York by Massimiliano Brustia, CEO and founder of Doralia at the HQ of the Italian Trade Commission, two blocks from the Consulate of Italy on Park Avenue.

The organization is in its infancy, but it has a very ambitious goal of creating and boosting the emerging Italian tech ecosystem: startups, law firms, marketing and promotion, insurance companies, banks, and above all VCVs and angel investors who provide capital in the various stages of development of an entrepreneurial idea.

This is a step that gives us hope, because the announcement was made at the end of the first initiative to support innovative companies, the Global Startup Program 2019. This is a sign that these three months spent by the founders to immerse themselves in international realities have enable Italians to grow and to think bigger.

Doralia is one of 7 startups that were selected to participate in this first edition in New York. 120 startups in innovative and high-tech sectors participated in the Global Startup Program and were distributed in different geographical areas: from the Americas to China, from Great Britain to Japan, from South Korea to Slovenia. The project involved two phases: a preparatory course in May in Italy by the ICE Training Services Office followed by three months of practical internship abroad, between July and September, in the mentioned locations.

The quality of the accelerators determined the success of the startups in the program.Their role was not to impart business notions or lessons in academic terms, but to accompany, stimulate and enrich startups with every practical advice.

In New York, the 7 startups were hosted at ERA (Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator), which offers high quality assistance because of its 500+ mentors, including entrepreneurs, industry experts, and investors. Judging by the testimonials of the seven entrepreneurs at the end of the program, but also by the quality of the presentations of the respective companies, the experience was beyond positive. The ERA team who oversaw the program, Iynna Halilou, Global Program Manager and Murat Aktihanoglu, co-founder as well as entrepreneur, computer scientist and investor, also complimented the progress made.

On September 17, Consul General Francesco Genuardi hosted the startups to discuss the program, which was promoted by the Italian Ministry of Development and the Italian Trade Agency. On September 30, 2019 there was a formal closing ceremony of the program, curated by Maurizio Forte director of Italian Trade Agency.

Other than Doralia, the other companies in the program are: Avatr (digital health and AI), Caracol Factory (3D printing and robotics), Criptalia (investment platform based on blockchain technology), Cydera (telemedicine health services), Plus Biomedical (biomedicine) and Gardenstuff (D2C IoT homeware and lifestyle).
