ERA (http://eranyc.com) and Remarkable Ventures (http://remarkable.vc) are extremely honored to have welcomed JETRO Chairman Norihiko Ishiguro-san to our offices in Flatiron in New York City earlier this month.
After a tour of the offices, Managing Partner Jonathan Axelrod presented an overview of ERA and Remarkable Ventures, venture trends in US and Japan, and the NYC tech ecosystem. Chairman Ishiguro-san engaged in a lively discussion with Jon Axelrod about Japanese startups entering the US market, investment trends in NYC, and the distinctions of the NYC startup ecosystem.
Following the presentation, three ERA portfolio companies presented to Ishiguro-san, and the Chairman asked them questions about their specific products and their journeys to launch their own ventures.
The three startups to meet the Chairman were:
Beagle is a SaaS platform that uses machine learning to automate property inspections for property and casualty insurance carriers.
Helpen brings transparency to the $20B corporate donation market. We provide the infrastructure to understand and communicate the flow of funds, the quantifiable impact they provide, and the location of that impact.
Pathways is creating environmental nutritional labels for building materials. Think carbon and ozone depletion instead of protein and carbohydrates.
ERA and Remarkable Ventures would like to thank JETRO Chairman Ishiguro-san for his engagement and longstanding partnership with ERA, as well as JETRO NY President Satoshi Miura, JETRO NY Executive Director Hideyuki Takashi, and JETRO NY Director Daiki Nakajima who supported the Chairman’s visit.
ERA and Remarkable Ventures are looking forward to working with JETRO on new ambitious projects in the coming year.
