ERA (http://eranyc.com ) and Remarkable Ventures (http://remarkable.vc ) had the immense pleasure and honor of welcoming Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike-san to our Union Square offices on Friday, September 16. 

After a tour of the Venture Capital firm, Managing Partner Murat Aktihanoglu, also a Global Ambassador for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, presented the state of venture capital in the climate sector and the new Remarkable Ventures Climate fund to the Governor.

Following the presentation, four Remarkable Ventures portfolio climate companies presented their ventures to the Governor. Each explained the global reach of their startups and their products’ applicability to the Japanese market. Koike-san graciously engaged with each presenter through a brief discussion on climate tech in Japan and in the US.

The four startups to meet the Governor were: 

Ettitude, a direct-to-consumer bedding and homewares brand with the world’s first organic bamboo lyocell fabric 

Genvision, an AI-enabled solution to measure carbon storage in natural assets.

Myro, a personal care brand with all-natural ingredients

WATS, a B2B waste reduction software that decarbonizes commercial buildings

ERA and Remarkable Ventures Climate express deep appreciation toward Governor Koike-san for her engagement and interest in climate and clean technologies, as well as JETRO NY President Kenichi Kawamoto and JETRO NY Executive Director Hideyuki Takashi who were also present to support the Governor’s visit.
